Sakosita Yanagi is a middle school student whom Recca meets at the beginning of the series. He dedicates his life to protecting his Hime (or 'princess') and goes through a lot of trouble to do so. Yanagi attracts the attention of the evil Kurei's father (who is in search of a technique to become immortal) with her ability to heal. As far as I can tell, this power has nothing to do with an elemental weapon, but then again I'm not quite done watching the show so who knows...
